This deadly effective lure is easy to use and perfect for bottom fishing. Finesse Kubara style Sliding Jig Heads are a uniquely shaped head that slides up the line away from the hooks when a fish is hooked. This unique shape results in a natural action that mimics wounded baitfish.
Paired up with a fluttering silicon skirt and a pre tied, or hand tied, jigging assist hook rig, you've got a lure that's lethal on species including snapper, kingfish & many others. Fish the lure slowly or even leave it in the rod holder and let the action of the boat do the work. Kaburas work all year round, and are a very good option in winter when fish are moving slower and want a nice easy target, or anywhere near workups or actively feeding fish.
When you drop the lure down to the sea floor, the head falls faster than the skirt or ‘fly’, so slides down along the line with the fly trailing behind. The fly is then able to wave weightlessly around, enticing fish to bite.
When it comes to selecting a lure head, in water up to 20m deep use 60g heads, and in deeper waters increase the weight to 100g. After all, it’s important to get the lure down and know when you’ve hit the bottom, as this provides your reference point for determining where in the water column the fish are positioned and ‘interested’.
